Uhm... actually it's nothing special. We have a Partizip Präsens (Partizip I; participio del presente) and Partizip Perfekt (Partizip II; participio del passato).

The Partizip Präsens works as follows (takes the gerundio in Italian):
Cantando una canzonetta fa i suoi compiti.
Ein Liedchen singend macht er seine Hausuafgaben.

And the Partizip Perfekt (takes the participio passato in Italian):
Am Schwerter Bahnhof angekommen, nahmen wir sofort ein Taxi.
Arrivate alla stazione di Schwert, abbiamo subito preso un taxi.

But usually they are only used attributive to the substantive
(I don't know how it works correctly in Italian. Does it take the participio presente in Italian?):
"das brennende Haus" - "the burning house" - "la casa ardente(?)"

Danke, jetzt weiß ich ungefähr um was es geht, aber ich finde diesen Stoff sehr überflüßig. Den benutzt man hauptsächlich nicht im deutschen Sprachgebrauch. Das ist eben ein " Platzhalte " Thema.
